PDGA Sanctioning Update

Nicola Sturgeon announced yesterday that Scotland would remain in stage 3 of the lockdown route map however also stated that all proposed changes on August the 24th would go ahead.

This includes re-introduction of organised outdoor contact sports and outdoor live events. Disc Golf is not a contact sport however the SDGA take that if, contact sports can resume then organised competitive disc golf can resume.

We are therefore excited to announce that PDGA sanctioning for tournaments in Scotland can resume from Monday 24th August barring any further announcements from the Scottish Government. It should also be noted that local lockdown measures should be taken into account when planning tournaments.

Should tournament directors want to host a PDGA sanctioned tournament, they must ensure that they adhere to the PDGA guidelines and government advice in relation to coronavirus.

The next Quaich Tour event at Glasgow, the GGO, looks like it will host the restart of PDGA sanctioned events in Scotland. We look forward to seeing you all there (from a distance).
